St. Ita's Hospital Radio - Much more than just music!

On air since 1983, St Itas Hospital Radio 89.5fm was established aiming to inform and entertain the patients and staff of the hospital. This radio plays a wide variety of music genres and also features entertainment and information programmes.

About St Ita's Hospital Radio

Saint Ita’s Hospital Radio is located at St Ita’s Hospital in St Patrick’s Parish, Portrane, Donabate, Co. Dublin.  It broadcasts on 89.5 fm locally and globally via an online stream.  The Station's first broadcast in December 1983, using home-made equipment, from a storeroom at the hospital. One of the services providedin those early days  was a cable television service which piped movies to the wards. With the arrival of cheap VCR's , the requirement for this service diminished and it was discontinued.

We do not have access to any of our phone lines at the moment but we can be contacted by email to [email protected] or tweet us @ #HospitalRadioIe and we have an active facebook page St. Itas Hospital Radio

What a radio station, excellent shows covering all generations and styles of music and facts, brilliant. Keep up the great work
I found your station on the Radio Garden app. It’s now my favorite station. I listen to you every night. I really enjoy the variety of music. I’ve heard classic country songs that I don’t get on my local station or satellite radio. My ancestors are from Ireland. I live in the States. Thank you for a great station.

I just wanted to say that your christmas music and shows over the Christmas were a tribute to everyone at St Ita's Hospital. I lived in Portrane in the 70s and 80s and don't get home that often anymore but my son has set up the station for me on my alexa speaker. Fantanstic station and really makes me feel at home here in Austrailia
Great radio station and listening to you on my smart speaker in Skerries. Solid Gold Sunday very enjoyable. nice to hear songs like that during the summer weather.
As a former patient of St Ita's it hasn't lost its appeal. Is Stereo Jack still knocking about? I want to say its great to hear the station is still going quietly about its business. Great selection of music and it got me through some of my darkest days. Have it on my phone now and brought a smile to my face today when I found it! Benny is not my real name. Keep up the music selection and hello to all in portrane
I would just like to say your Christmas music selection is wonderful! Orignally from Swords but listening from the north of London with friends and family.
I have been listening to your music all day today and it was wonderful to come across such a lovely station playing great music. Hard to believe your only on my doorstep and I never heard of you before. I know I will be listening every Sunday. Really enjoy your station
What a fantastic radio station. I cannot believe the music selection. It brings back some great memories. Great to hear the station is still going. Wonderful station.
Really enjoying your Sunday programmes. I grew up in Portrane and found the station by pure accident. Great to hear it’s still on the air
Thanks Bill, Delighted to hear that.
Enjoying your music selections in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Keep up the good work
Hi Gerry, we are delighted that you are enjoying our station at the other side of the planet. Thank you for your kind comments. Merry Xmas to you all from all here in Portrane, Ireland
Brings me back to my days growing up around St Ita's Hospital in the 80s. Its a long way from Syndey Australia but the Christmas memories have been great the last few weeks. The memories are a nice touch. A credit to the hospital and long may it continue.
Tuning into Debbie and Jack ....listening in Brittany, France. Delighted to hear Flavours was a success.
Really enjoying the Tuesday show...all the local news and marvellous selection of songs.
